Why Does It Say “This Email Already Exists” When I Try to Add Myself to My EMTprep Group?
If you receive a “This email already exists” message when trying to add yourself or another user to your EMTprep group, there are two common reasons why this happens.
1. The User Already Has an Existing EMTprep Student Account-
If the email address has already been used to create a student account on EMTprep, the system cannot create a second account using the same email.
Solution
Send us an email and we can:
- Move the existing student account into your group
- Figure out why there are two emails in our system
This is a quick and common process for our support team.
2. You Are Trying to Use Your Group Admin Email as a Student Account-
Group administrator accounts and student accounts must use separate email addresses.
If you created your instructor/group admin account with one email, you cannot use that same email to also create a student membership account.
Important Note About Group Admin Accounts
As a group administrator, you will typically have:
- One login for the instructor/group admin dashboard
- If you want your own login as a student, you will need to purchase an additional student membership to pass out to yourself, and you will create a separate login for your personal student membership account
This allows the system to properly separate:
- Student progress tracking
- Instructor permissions
- Membership management
